The Experience of an Amphibious Human,2007, Tehran

‘The Experience of an Amphibious Human’ was a light installation at Azad Art Gallery in Tehran where I turned off the lights of the gallery and invited the audience to view, in darkness and with the help of flashlights, the shadows I had carved on Plexiglass through scratching the imprints of real bodies. The play of shadows and the impossibility of seeing the body in its totality rendered a different appraisal of body . This installation consisted of ten Plexiglas panels with ten pieces of folk lullabies selected and arranged by Makan Ashgvari.
